Nathaniel “Nat” Smith Obituary: Nathaniel “Nat” Smith 1952 – 2026, also known as “Nathan,” passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on Friday, February 27, 2026, in Big Spring. Nathan proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1974 to 1978. Following his military service, he pursued higher education and earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from San Diego State University. He went on to build a career as a dedicated computer technician, from which he later retired. Outside of his professional life, Nathaniel found joy in a variety of interests. He had a deep appreciation for electronics and enjoyed working on various technical projects. He was also passionate about sculpture and spent time expressing his creativity through art. In quieter moments, he could often be found engaged in a thoughtful game of chess, a pastime he truly cherished. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, where he will be laid to rest with honor.
